A new report has revealed serious unrest inside one of the UK’s main migrant detention centres, with guards using pepper spray to control large protests. The Annual Report of the Independent Monitoring Board for Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre showed that tensions increased sharply at Brook House in 2024. The report recorded 28 serious incidents, compared to only four the year before, showing how quickly the situation escalated inside the facility. Inspectors said several of these incidents involved large groups of men protesting at once. Between 25 and 40 migrants took part in demonstrations on different occasions. Three major protests happened…
Dozens of aid workers in Greece have begun their trial over accusations of migrant smuggling, a case that human rights groups say is an attempt to punish people who try to help refugees. The case is taking place on the island of Lesbos, a place that became a major entry point for refugees during the 2015–2016 crisis, when more than a million people arrived in Europe through Greece. The trial comes at a time when many countries in the European Union are adopting stricter migration policies as right-wing political parties continue to grow across the region. A total of 24…
Spain’s Interior Ministry has reported that migrant arrivals increased in November 2025, but the overall number of undocumented migrants entering the country this year remains almost 30 percent lower than the same period in 2024. According to the new figures released on December 2, Spain recorded a total of 34,251 undocumented migrants between January and November 30. The report shows that November saw a noticeable rise compared to the previous months. However, when the data is compared with last year’s record, Spain experienced a 29.9 percent decrease in arrivals. Officials say this reduction reflects stronger border control measures and changing…

Authorities also intercepted over 25,000 migrants, including 21,902 men, 2,191…
The US Department of Justice has dismissed eight immigration judges in New York City, the National Association of Immigration Judges (NAIJ) confirmed on Tuesday. The judges all worked at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan, a federal building that handles cases of migrants seeking legal status in the United States. For months, federal officers have patrolled the building wearing masks and occasionally arresting migrants as they leave court hearings. Media coverage has captured scuffles and the separation of migrant families, making 26 Federal Plaza a symbol of the Trump administration’s strict immigration policies. It is not clear why the eight judges…
Police in Bologna, Italy, have uncovered a major fraud scheme involving a fake fiscal assistance center that allegedly helped migrants obtain stay permits illegally. Investigators believe the group collected money from migrants in exchange for submitting false applications under Italy’s “flow decrees,” which regulate legal entry for foreign workers. A total of 25 people are now under investigation. Eight of them have already been served arrest warrants or ordered to report to judicial authorities. The probe is being led by the State Attorney’s Office in the Emilia Romagna region, with support from anti-mafia investigators. According to police sources, the group…
Florida has launched a new operation that will allow police and immigration officers to visit homes where unaccompanied migrant children live. The plan is called the UAC Safety Verification Initiative, and it began last month. The Department of Homeland Security says the goal is to protect children, but many people believe it is really a strategy to arrest more undocumented migrants during Trump’s second term. Under this plan, local police will work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement to enter or inspect homes where migrant children stay. The government says it wants to stop child trafficking and abuse. However, migrant advocates…

He said he was only 16 at the time and that his brother, who worked as a soldier, threatened him with a gun when they were caught. The migrant claimed that this threat forced him…
