More than 740 Afghan migrant families have recently returned to Afghanistan after being deported from Pakistan and Iran, according to officials.
The High Commission for Addressing Migrants confirmed that a total of 747 families — approximately 5,115 people — were forcibly repatriated through several key border points. These include Torkham in Nangarhar, Spin Boldak in Kandahar, Islam Qala in Herat, and Abrisham in Nimruz.
Authorities say they have been working to support these returnees during their difficult journey. The commission facilitated various services such as registration, verification, and reception. Migrants also received health services, financial support, transportation help, and access to telecommunications.
Upon arrival, the returnees went through biometric registration, including fingerprinting. After that, they were given cash aid and SIM cards to help them reconnect with family members. Transportation was arranged to help them reach their hometowns across different provinces of Afghanistan.
