President-elect Donald Trump has promised major changes to transgender policies and immigration once he takes office. Speaking at a conservative event in Phoenix, Arizona, Trump said he would act on these issues from his first day as president.

Trump pledged to stop what he called “transgender lunacy.” He said he would sign orders to ban transgender people from the military and schools. He also promised to stop gender-affirming care for children and keep “men out of women’s sports.” He stated that the U.S. government would officially recognize only two genders: male and female.

At the same event, Trump announced tough plans to fight migrant crime. He promised to begin what he called the largest deportation operation in U.S. history. He also said he would label drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and take action to destroy their networks.

What else did Trump promise? He said he would bring peace to Ukraine, end chaos in the Middle East, and prevent World War III. However, he did not explain how he would achieve these goals. Trump also criticized the current administration, calling the last four years a time of failure and decline.

On the Panama Canal, Trump said Panama had not treated the U.S. fairly. He warned that if the canal treaty is not followed, he would demand its return to U.S. control. He called the current fees for using the canal “ridiculous” and said they hurt U.S. commerce.

Transgender rights remain a heated topic in U.S. politics. Some states have passed laws to support transgender people, while others have restricted their rights. Last week, Congress included a rule in the defense budget to block funding for some gender-affirming care for the children of military service members.

Trump’s promises have raised questions. How will he handle these issues? His supporters believe his plans will restore American greatness, while critics say his ideas lack clear details and could cause harm.
