Last year, a tragic boat accident occurred off the coast of Greece. Many migrants lost their lives, leaving behind devastated families. One survivor, Mahmoud Shalabi, lived through this terrifying experience, but many of his friends did not make it.

The families of those still missing continue to wait in agony. They want to know the truth about what happened during the disaster. They wonder if the Greek coast guard could have done more to help those in distress. However, the government has not provided clear answers or held anyone accountable.

Survivors and grieving families feel frustrated and heartbroken. They seek justice and closure, but conflicting stories about the events make it difficult to determine the truth. Some survivors say the coast guard made the situation worse by failing to offer assistance. Officials claim the distressed boat declined help.

Without definitive explanations, emotional turmoil continues for families and survivors. They believe understanding what happened could prevent similar tragedies in the future. For Fatima Al-Rahil, whose husband Ihsaan disappeared, the search for answers goes on. Despite working with the Red Cross on genetic testing, Fatima still hopes her husband is alive somewhere.

Families like Fatima’s keep waiting and advocating for transparency and accountability. They hold onto hope that their loved ones will one day return, though the chances grow slimmer with each passing day. The grieving process cannot truly begin without knowing what became of their missing relatives.
