Denver has teamed up with Maria Empanada, led by founder Lorena Cantarovici, to support migrants by donating $25,000 worth of baked goods. This partnership aims to provide assistance to individuals within the city’s newcomer shelter system. The announcement was made during a giveaway event, where Cantarovici emphasized the importance of community support during challenging times, stating, “The city is struggling at this time, so we need to help in any way that we can.”

The donated goods will directly benefit individuals within the newcomer shelter system, showcasing a collective effort to provide essential support. Cantarovici reiterated the humanitarian nature of the initiative, stating, “It’s not about politics, right? It’s not about religion.”
Maria Empanada, founded by Cantarovici in Denver in 2011, has become a staple in the local community. Cantarovici, who first arrived in the United States in 2001, brings her passion for food and community together in this initiative.
