Instapay Technologies has announced a new partnership with Mastercard to improve how migrant workers in Malaysia send money home. The collaboration will use Mastercard Move, a platform that allows fast and secure cross-border money transfers to over 180 countries in more than 150 currencies.

This new service will help more than three million migrant workers in Malaysia send money to their families in countries like Indonesia, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, and Pakistan. The rollout will begin in the second quarter of 2025.

With this upgrade, Instapay users will be able to:

    • Send money to bank accounts, mobile wallets, or for cash pickup
    • Track each transaction in real-time
    • View transfer fees and delivery times clearly

Instapay is a licensed e-money company that already offers digital financial services to unbanked workers. These services include prepaid Mastercard cards and the ability to receive salaries directly into their accounts.

Rajnish Kumar, Co-founder and CEO of Instapay Technologies, said:

“This partnership with Mastercard helps us offer a faster, safer, and more affordable way for our customers to send money. We want to keep using technology to make financial transactions easier and reduce costs for everyone.”

Beena Pothen, Country Manager for Mastercard in Malaysia and Brunei, added:

“Millions of migrant workers depend on fast and secure money transfers to support their families. With Mastercard Move, they will get more control, better security, and full transparency when sending money.”

Instapay also plans to extend this service to businesses in the future, making it easier for companies to pay their migrant staff quickly and safely.

This collaboration is expected to have a big impact on the lives of many migrant workers in Malaysia, giving them better tools to support their loved ones back home.
