Afghanistan has announced new plans to help its citizens return from Pakistan in a safe and organized way. Nooruddin Azizi, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, shared the updates during his visit to Islamabad, where he met with Afghan traders and refugees.

Azizi, who leads a delegation from the Islamic Emirate, said that a High Commission for Refugee Issues has been set up to address the growing concerns of Afghan refugees living abroad. The new commission will focus on making the return process easier for Afghan industrial workers and their families while also working to improve conditions once they return home.

What steps are being taken to help Afghan refugees return?

According to Azizi, the government is putting in place several strong measures to support voluntary repatriation. These include helping refugees resettle, improving their living standards, and ensuring a smooth and safe return. He made it clear that the Islamic Emirate is serious about protecting the rights and dignity of all returning citizens.

Why is cooperation between Afghanistan and Pakistan important?

During the meetings, Azizi emphasized the need for continued bilateral discussions between Afghanistan and Pakistan. These talks are key to finding peaceful and fair solutions regarding the status and future of Afghan refugees in Pakistan. He also stressed that any return should meet international standards, especially those outlined by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Are Afghan refugees being forced to return?

Nooruddin Azizi made it clear that the Afghan government wants the return to be voluntary. He stated that all plans must ensure that refugees go back to Afghanistan by choice and in a dignified way, without being forced or treated unfairly.

What does this mean for Afghan citizens?

This new initiative signals a stronger push by Afghanistan’s leaders to bring back their people, especially skilled workers who can help rebuild the economy. The government believes that helping citizens return home is an important step in improving the country’s future and overall stability.

As the refugee crisis continues to affect thousands of Afghan families, the new measures show a commitment to long-term solutions. With better planning, international cooperation, and support systems in place, Afghanistan hopes to welcome its people back and give them a better life.

    Tip for returning refugees:

    • Stay connected with official refugee assistance centers.
    • Seek support from recognized humanitarian organizations like UNHCR to understand your rights and the services available.
