Another tragic incident happened near the Greek island of Samos on Thursday morning when a migrant boat crashed on the rocks. This accident killed four people, including two children and two women. It is the second fatal boat wreck in the area this week, showing the serious dangers migrants face while trying to cross the sea.

According to reports, 16 passengers from Thursday’s wreck made it safely to the shore. Meanwhile, the Greek Coast Guard continues searching for more survivors along the northeastern coastline of Samos. It is not yet clear how many people were on the boat when it sank.

Earlier in the week, another boat sank near Samos, leading to the deaths of six children and two women. In that incident, 39 passengers were rescued, but the authorities could not confirm how many people had been on board when the boat left Turkey.

These back-to-back tragedies highlight the dangers of these risky sea journeys. Migrants often travel on overcrowded, unsafe boats, putting their lives at great risk. More safety measures are needed to protect people from such accidents.

Human rights groups and international organizations are calling for urgent action. They said countries need to work together to stop these tragedies. This could include increasing patrols, improving rescue operations, and targeting human smuggling networks that take advantage of desperate migrants.

Experts also stress the need to create legal and safe ways for migrants to move. Many people are escaping war, poverty, or other crises, and they should not have to risk their lives for a chance at a better future.

The recent tragedies near Samos show how dangerous migration can be without proper protections. Governments and organizations must act quickly to prevent more loss of life and to support vulnerable migrants seeking safety.
