A 19-year-old migrant girl from Bihar was attacked near KR Puram Metro Station early Wednesday morning. The girl, who had been working with her family on a cardamom plantation in Idukki, Kerala, was on her way back to Bihar when the incident happened.

She had arrived at KR Puram railway station with her cousin around 1:15 a.m. to board a train. At that time, two men, Asif and Syed Moosa, who are auto-rickshaw drivers, reportedly harassed her. Police say Moosa held her cousin back while Asif acted inappropriately toward the girl.

What happened to the suspects after the incident?
Nearby residents heard the girl’s cries for help and rushed to the spot. They caught Asif and handed him over to the police. Based on the information he gave, police also arrested Moosa shortly after.

Both men are from Mulbagal taluk in Kolar district. They had been resting in their autos near the metro station before the assault took place. The victim was immediately taken to a hospital for a medical check-up and treatment.

The police from Mahadevapura station acted quickly to arrest the suspects. They have filed serious charges including assault, wrongful restraint, and criminal intimidation. Authorities are now continuing their investigation to ensure justice is served.

This case has raised concerns once again about the safety of women and migrant workers, especially those traveling during late hours. Locals praised the people who stepped in to help the victim and ensured the suspects were arrested without delay.
